Assassin’s Creed Unity Teased in Amazing Next-Gen Trailer, Watch it in HD Here

The next addition to the Assassin's Creed franchise is called Assassin's Creed Unity. Unlike the game that came before it, it's a game designed specifically to take advantage of next-gen hardware. If you're an Xbox One or PS4 owner, that's reason to be excited.

Assassin's Creed Unity is set during the French Revolution (circa 1789 to 1799). Important political figures such as Napoleon Bonaparte, Louis XVI, and Edmund Burke are likely candidates for characters in the title. Given the amount of historical content to work with Ubisoft has a lot of options when it comes to how it'll deliver its next story, and how you'll interface with the timeline.

The game is absolutely gorgeous if its teaser trailer is to be believed. Ubisoft has labeled it as alpha game footage, casting away any beliefs that it's pre-rendered CGI footage. If this is anything like what we'll get when the game releases this Holiday season, you're in for a title that will validate your next-gen console purchase with open-world gameplay that simply couldn't be done on the PS3 or Xbox 360.
