Mario Kart 8 will run at just 30 FPS in 3 and 4-player mode, it has been revealed.
The game, which runs at a smooth 60 FPS in both single-player and 2-player mode, drops to 30 FPS when three or four people are thrown into the mix.
While reports from playtests of the upcoming Wii U game do not suggest that there’s any noticeable gameplay lag due to the framerate drop, there have been complaints about the game’s visuals suffering a dramatic dip in quality, with VideoGamer.com stating that “visually, it looked a mess” when the game dropped to 30 FPS.
A new trailer for Mario Kart 8 has also been released, which you can view below. It highlights a number of new features added to the game, including new tracks, new characters and a look at the game’s take on Rainbow Road.
