Listen: Giorgio Moroder Remixes Coldplay’s ‘Midnight’

First Coldplay looked over Radiohead’s shoulder, and now it’s Daft Punk. We’re on to the game, but fortunately for everyone it’s working for the former Mr. Gwyneth Paltrow and friends. EDM godfather/pioneer Giorgio Moroder has remixed the new track “Midnight,” from Coldplay’s upcoming new album Ghost Stories.

The new mix is available to download at iTunes and can be streamed at the Italian producer’s SoundCloud account – or below, if you’re not into a bunch of unnecessary clicks. It doesn’t exactly give off the cocaine disco ball funk that one might expect, but Moroder’s interpretation certainly shoves the song out onto the dancefloor. Check it out:

Ghost Stories, Coldplay’s sixth album and first since 2011’s Mylo Kyloto, will be released on May 19.
