Jeremy Clarkson Denies Using Racist Slur During Top Gear Filming

Jeremy Clarkson has denied using a racist slur during filming for BBC’s Top Gear.

The presenter’s job is now in the firing line after the Mirror released video footage of what appears to be Clarkson mumbling the “n-word” as part of a racist rhyme.

There have now been calls for the BBC to axe Clarkson from his job as presenter of Top Gear, the hugely popular car show that the 54-year-old hosts.

However, Clarkson has responded to the footage on Twitter, saying: ” I did not use the n word. Never use it. The Mirror has gone way too far this time.”

The BBC has responded to the footage, releasing a statement that said: “We’ve seen the story, the Mirror didn’t approach us, clearly we’ll establish the facts before commenting.” Clarkson’s Top Gear host James May also came to his defense, saying that he is “many other things, but not a racist. I wouldn’t work with one.”

Clarkson has come under fire many times in the past due to a variety of questionable remarks that have often been perceived as being racist/bigoted. Despite this, he has continued to hold on to his job at the BBC, and despite the outrage that this video footage has caused it’s likely that he will continue to do so.
