Miss May I Rally Around Fan Who Died Stagediving

Miss May I have released a somber statement after one of their fans died after stagediving at a New York show by the metalcore heroes on Sunday.

The fan, 21 year-old Alberto Scott (pictured above) reportedly stagedived during the show, but fell to the floor when the audience failed to catch his leap from the stage. Billboard explains that Scott collapsed outside of the venue after exiting the show. He died shortly after.

Writing on their Facebook page, Miss May I said: “As many of you will have heard, Alberto Scott, a Miss May I fan in attendance at our Webster Hall show on Saturday night tragically died. We were deeply shocked and saddened to hear this news. We are awaiting a full report from the New York Police Department.”

They added: “In the meantime, we’d ask that all your thoughts and prayers be with his family. We have been made aware of a webpage that is raising funds to help pay for his funeral costs. We will be making a contribution and we’d strongly urge others to do so.”

Miss May I included a link to a Gofundme.com page to help with Scott’s family’s struggling financial arrangements. A memorial page collecting tributes for Scott has also been created by Sinestra Studios.
