Arsene Wenger Preemptively Congratulates Man City on Premier League Title Win

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has congratulated Manchester City on winning the Premier League title – before the club has even lifted the trophy.

With only one game left to play, Manchester City will secure the title if they get one point at home to West Ham on Sunday (May 11th) as they now sit in front of Liverpool by two points. Liverpool must beat Newcastle at home to be in with a chance of topping the league table. But despite Liverpool still having a chance of winning the league, Wenger said that it would be a miracle now for [Manchester City] not to win it.”

Speaking to the BBC, Wenger praised Manuel Pellegrini’s side, who beat Aston Villa 4-0 to knock Liverpool off the top spot, saying: “Congratulations to them. They won a marathon and they turned up in the last 100 yards. But they turned up when it mattered.

“Liverpool had an outstanding second part of the season and are maybe the most unlucky team of the season because they were nearly there as well.”

He continued: “To be completely honest as well, a team like City scored 100 goals, so you have to say that their offensive potential has been absolutely brutal and fantastic.”

“We have scored 66 at the moment and that’s certainly where we have room for improvement.”
