Milky Chance On Target For Australian Summer Festival Run

Electronic folk duo Milky Chance say an Aussie summer festival visit is planned for early next year.

Clemens Rehbein of the German duo told Triple J’s Drive program they are planning a visit “next year in January” to debut the hit single ‘Stolen Dance’ and album Sadnessecary on Aussie soil.

“We’re looking forward to coming to Australia to play some festivals,” vocalist Rehbein told The Doctor. “I have heard that they are very nice. So hopefully we’ll play some festivals in January.”

Rehbein’s hint could mean a Milky Chance visit at any one of a number of festivals, including Big Day Out, Falls or Laneway.

2013’s ‘Stolen Dance’ has been a No.1 hit in five European countries and currently sits and No. 2 on the ARIA charts.

“The special thing about ‘Stolen Dance’ is that I wrote the chorus three or four years ago, and then the verse came two years later,” says Clemens.

“All the other songs I write come together in a week, or two weeks, or a day. It’s like puzzling. It’s a very crazy process and it’s just about putting the pieces together.”

The pair are about to kick off the European summer festival circuit featuring a ton of festival dates including Nuremberg’s Rock am Ring Festival.
