Sting Will Be a Pre-Order Bonus in WWE 2K15, But Where’s the Gameplay Footage?

Sting has been announced as a pre-order bonus for WWE 2K15, though developer 2K Games has yet to release any gameplay footage or screenshots of the upcoming title.

Gameplay trailers for WWE games are typically only released to coincide with the company’s SummerSlam pay-per-view, which will take place in August, but 2K revealing pre-order DLC before offering fans so much as a glimpse of what the game will look like is still a little frustrating.

It could be argued that the formula of WWE games hasn’t changed much over the past 3 years and therefore fans should know what to expect, but with 2K taking the helm from the outset this year (in WWE 2K14 the developer was working upon a foundation laid by THQ, who filed for bankruptcy midway through the game’s development) WWE 2K15 could mark a huge change for the series – or it could not. We have no idea, given how the only information we’ve received regarding the game thus far is that John Cena will be its cover star, and its designers have stated that player animations will be much smoother this time around.

Still, it’s admittedly awesome to see Sting feature in a WWE game in an official capacity. While Sting has been one of the only former WCW stars to not have a run in the WWE following the buyout of the Ted Turner company, WWE has somehow lured him into a deal which will see his official likeness and moveset brought to the upcoming game. With rumors circulating that WWE 2K15 will have a heavy focus on WCW and maybe even ECW, Sting’s inclusion makes a lot more sense if that is to be the case.
