Just a few days ago a listing on Tesco for Dark Souls 2 on PS4 and Xbox One was found. Many gamers were immediately excited to see what has been one of this year’s best games potentially coming to next-generation consoles. But retailers have made mistakes before. Is the listing real?
Well, Dark Souls 2 for Xbox One can be found on Google for the Microsoft Store. You can see it for yourself by typing in ‘dark souls xbox one‘ in the search engine. That makes two retailers that have purposefully entered it into their system.
Quite a few ports have been leaked in a similar manner over the years. While this is by no means confirmation, it makes it seem much more likely than ever before. Next-gen ports have been a great way for games like Tomb Raider to make some extra dough while tying gamers over until the big guns like Halo 5 and Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End release.

Some are expecting a reveal of the next-gen version to be at this year’s Gamescom. The show is already showing tons of promise with PS4 game announcements confirmed and the attendance of From Software’s other title in development: Bloodborne.
Remember, From Software already worked on an enhanced version with the PC release, so this wouldn’t be that big of a jump. The PC version had options for higher texture and shadow quality, higher resolution, and even 60 frames per second.
Given how crammed this Fall and Winter season is with video game releases, I have a feeling if the port does exist, it will come out during Q1 of 2015, maybe even on the game’s one year anniversary of March 11th.
Dark Souls 2 will receive its first DLC package titled Crown of the Sunken King on July 22nd. It will be available for $9.99 across all three current platforms. Two additional DLCs will follow in the future. There’s a possibility these could be included in the next-gen release.
