CraveOnline and TNT’s The Last Ship Conquered Comic-Con 2014

At San Diego Comic-Con 2014, CraveOnline teamed up with TNT’s The Last Ship to “conquer the con” by throwing the best party SDCC has ever seen, complete with a DJ set by Grimes, a live performance by MGMT, cocktails, games, skydiving, and fireworks — all of this jam-packed aboard the historic USS Midway, turning the iconic naval vessel into “The Last Ship.” Guests lined up as far as the eye could see for entry to the monumental event.

Excited attendees were greeted by a fully branded entryway set to match the post-pandemic world of TNT’s The Last Ship. In the Science Lab, guests could view footage from the blockbuster series and join a themed game of laser tag in the Lazer Maze. The Loot Lounge featured specialty cocktails from Captain Morgan and provided once-in-a-lifetime photo opportunities in front of fighter jets on the deck of the USS Midway. Lootcrate also gave away a number of exclusive Comic-Con crates to lucky fans. A very select few got to escape the apocalyptic world in the exclusive TNT-hosted VIP Hanger Bay Lounge.

If that wasn’t enough for the CraveConquersTheCon party to leave its mark on San Diego Comic-Con, the night came to a climax with a DJ set by Grimes, opening for an exclusive performance from the Grammy Award-winning group MGMT on the CraveOnline stage, followed by an aerial show with skydivers and fireworks.

Celebrities were in abundance, including Nina Dobrev (Vampire Diaries, pictured below: middle), Paul Wesley (Vampire Diaries), Shane West (Salem), Nathan Fillion (Castle, pictured below: left), Skrillex (musician), Travis Van Winkle (The Last Ship), Julie Benz (Defiance), Grant Bowler (Defiance), Lucas Till (X-Men), Charles Michael David (The Originals), Jason Mewes (Jay and Silent Bob), Luke Barnett (The Amityville Haunting), Phoebe Tonkin (The Originals), Keahu Kahuaniui (Teen Wolf), Maitland Ward (Girl Meets World), Genesis Rodriguez (Man on a Ledge, pictured below: right), and many more.

Friday, July 25, 2014 will forever be known as the night CraveOnline conquered Comic-Con and social media surrounding the annual event in San Diego, CA. See more exclusive photos of guests enjoying themselves, the performances, and the venue itself below.
