NetherRealm Studios has unveiled a new gameplay video for Mortal Kombat X, which highlights the various fighting styles of series veteran Raiden.
The video, narrated by series creator Ed Boon, walks us through the Raiden’s three fighting variations: Thunder God, Displacer and Storm Lord.

These changes to the formula are reminiscent of those featured in Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance, though Mortal Kombat X is thankfully sticking to the 2.5D fighting arenas that were resurrected in the critically-acclaimed 2011 Mortal Kombat reboot.
The new fighting variations allow for players to choose which move set best complements their style of play, with Thunder God increasing the power of his thunder attacks in order to extend combos, Displacer allowing him to teleport to multiple attack zones and Storm Lord granting him the ability to create lightning traps in order to lure in opponents.
Mortal Kombat X is set to release on the PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC in 2015. Check out a rundown of each of Raiden’s in the image gallery below.
