PAX Prime: The Behemoth Debuts Game 4’s Strategy Gameplay with Video

As announced last week, The Behemoth is at PAX Prime with its upcoming game. That game was and still is being called Game 4, and truth is not even The Behemoth knows for certain what it’ll be called. While its official title is to be determined, today we at least get an idea of what the gameplay is like.

Game 4 has a visual style very similar to Castle Crashers and BattleBlock theater, The Behemoth’s two most well known games. While it shows plenty of flavor from the rest of the team’s portfolio, its gameplay is anything but. Based upon the brief glimpses of gameplay shown in its debut trailer, which you can watch above, this is a strategy game.

Battles take place on a hexagonal grid, and you’ll wage war with your team against one or more others. Using classes of different kinds, you’ll be in charge of not only taking out opponents, but keeping yours alive.

It all looks a bit similar to strategy games like Final Fantasy Tactics, which is hugely exciting for fans of the genre such as myself. There’s also multiplayer support, so building up a strong team and learning how to play well is rewarded with victories against other players. It all looks very good.

Game 4 is confirmed to be exclusive to Xbox One and PC, with an expected release in 2015. Check out the gameplay trailer for yourself above, and let us know what you think.
