Cold War Kids have announced a pair of January sideshows to accompany their December Falls Festival visit to Australia.
The first band to announce Falls Fest sideshows, Cold War Kids will perform at The Hi Fi in Melbourne and Sydney, on January 5 and 6 respectively, in addition to Falls stops in Byron Bay (sold out), Lorne (sold out) and Marion Bay, plus Western Australia’s Southbound festival.
The Californian four-piece will head Down Under on the back of upcoming studio album No.5, Hold My Home, set for release on October 21 via Downtown Records, and lead single “All This Could Be Yours” (below).
The follow-up to 2013’s Dear Miss Lonelyhearts was recorded in the Cold War Kids’ San Jose studio with producer Lars Stalfors (Mars Volta, Matt and Kim) and guitarist Dan Gallucci.
The announcement follows Thursday’s news of Julian Casablancas + The Voidz joining an already packed Falls lineup featuring alt-j, Röyksopp & Robyn, The Black Lips, and Glass Animals.
Tickets go on sale Wednesday, October 1.
