Video Premiere: The Stone Foxes Are Sportsball Maniacs in ‘Locomotion’

As the landscape of the music industry continues to evolve, artists are exploring the myriad of new ways to share their work with the world. The Stone Foxes are running like hell with that idea as they prepare to unleash their fourth album, Twelve Spells, in a uniquely new way.

“Locomotion” is the first song to be released as part of  the “Foxes First Friday” series. Circumventing the traditional album release cycle, the band is releasing one track a month over the course of the year that will culminate into Twelve Spells, a new album that will also include live tracks, alternative mixes, photos and art work that the band will be collecting while on the road this year. Twelve Spells is available for pre-order in multiple formats and packages at the band’s official site, while you can grab “Locomotion” on iTunes right now.

Check out the exclusive premiere of “Locomotion,” which finds the boys working some serious sportsball moves on the court.

In accompaniment, the band shares a message of history and inspiration:

We Koehler brothers are descendants of Auggie Sinner, our great grandpa. According to our grandma Ruth Koehler, Auggie was trying to get out of Russia durring the Bolshevik revolution when he was nearly caught by the cops at the train station. He bought papers from another man and was able to board, what happened to the other man no one knows….probably nothing good. He got out to Nebraska and met another German who had left Russia for the U.S., hence all the talk of the Midwest and finding a country strong woman. They had my grandma and moved out to California. True story. I figured that takes a whole lotta gumption and juevos to do something like that, and thought that’s a pretty rock n roll move. Cheers to you, Great Grandpa Sinner!

Keep up with Foxes First Friday and the band at their official site, and keep up with the guys on Facebook and Twitter.
