Huge Batch of HD Halo: The Master Chief Collection Screenshots Released

A batch of 27 HD screenshots from Halo: The Master Chief Collection has been released, and suffice to say that it’s looking very pretty indeed.

The screenshots are taken from Halo 2, Halo 2 Anniversary, Halo 3, Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, showing us what each addition to the collection will offer in terms of visuals when the much-anticipated game arrives to the Xbox One.

The Halo 2 Anniversary images in particular highlight a huge graphical upgrade since the days of the original Xbox, with the Arbiter’s ugly head being revealed in all its slimy, high-definition glory.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection is set to tide over Halo fans until Halo 5 drops in 2015, with changes to both the visuals and the gameplay of the original classics. Fortunately for those who prefer the original games’ style of gameplay, there is an option to keep the shooting old-school if you so wish.

Despite PC and Xbox 360 owners desperately wanting to get their hands on a copy of the game, Microsoft has stated that it will remain an Xbox One only release for the foreseeable future, in order to get more people to make the jump to its latest console. It remains to be seen whether or not it will be the system-seller MS is hoping for, but it’s sure to please Halo fans nonetheless.
