You can pre-download Halo: The Master Chief Collection right now on Xbox One, but be warned: the download size is a whopping 65GB.
It seems that 20GB of the install is actually a day one patch, meaning that the game itself still comes in at a huge 45GB. There are no patch notes at the time of writing to suggest what the day one update is adding/fixing.
Pre-downloading the game will ensure that it is ready to play immediately come its November 11th US and November 14th UK release dates, so if you were planning on opting for a digital copy of the game rather a physical one, it’s in your best interests to visit the Xbox Marketplace right now to ensure that you’re not stuck dealing with its massive file size come the day of its release.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection will include Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 2, the new Halo 2 Anniversary, Halo 3 and Halo 4, with all multiplayer maps and game modes included. There will also be added extras, including access to the Halo 5: Guardians multiplayer beta and a series of weekly, episodic digital videos titled Halo Nightfall, which have been produced by acclaimed director Ridley Scott.
A fresh batch of HD screenshots for the upcoming collection were recently unveiled, detailing a gorgeous new makeover for Halo 2 in particular, which Microsoft and developer 343 Industries are pitching as the focal point of the game.
All signs point to Halo: The Master Chief Collection being the most accomplished remaster yet, in a time when almost every major release is getting the 1080p makeover for the current console generation.
