Raheem Sterling certainly hasn’t placed himself in the good books with England fans, as it has been revealed that the midfielder stayed at a London club until 3am the day after coach Roy Hodgson claimed he was “too tired” to play for his national squad.
Sterling stayed at Cirque le Soir until the early hours of the morning alongside teammates Danny Welbeck and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, despite Hodgson placing him on the bench for England’s match against Estonia as the 19-year-old had “complained of tiredness” prior to the match. Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers later defended his players, claiming that the allegations he had refused to play for his country were unfounded.

While this may be the case, being photographed in a club just 24 hours after England carved out an unspectacular 1-0 win against Estonia is not a good look for the young player, who is seen by many as one of the brightest stars in England’s future.
According to the Mail Online, Sterling flew to Manchester straight after the game against Estonia had ended before travelling to London. Brendan Rodgers will certainly be hoping that the midfielder isn’t afflicted with “tiredness” today (October 22nd), as Liverpool are set to take on Real Madrid in the Champions League, in what will likely be one of the club’s most difficult games of the year.
