Micro Machines developer Codemasters has unveiled Toybox Turbos, a new game that is very much a spiritual successor to the classic tabletop racing series.
Toybox Turbos will feature 18 tracks, ranging from a kitchen setting, to a children’s play area, to a pool table, 35 collectible vehicles, power-ups and online play. It’s set to be released in November, with it being available digitally on Steam and Xbox 360. The PS3 version of the game is “coming soon,” according to Codemasters.
As a huge fan of the Micro Machines series back in the days of the SNES, this is very exciting news. While the Micro Machines license isn’t attached to the game, it is still deeply embedded in the style of the series that Codemasters enjoyed huge success with back in ’90s.
Just looking at these screenshots sends a warm, fuzzy feeling of nostalgia shooting through my veins. November can’t come soon enough.
