PAX EAST 2015: A Survival Guide to Facing the Three Days of PAX East

You’re Going to Want to Take Pictures

Whether or not you’re the kind of person constantly taking pictures for Facebook or not, you’re going to stumble upon situations at PAX East where you’ll want a camera on hand. Smart phone cameras work well since they can keep you from having to carry around a full sized camera, but bring whatever you know will take photos at a quality you’re happy with.

A Backback or Bag is Necessary

Not only do you want something to carry your snacks, water, and devices, but chances are you’re going to acquire some cool swag while at PAX East.

This ghost buster didn’t forget his backpack, and neither should you.

PAX is a place where developers love to hand out branded t-shirts and goodies, and the merchandise sold at the PAX Store can be enticing. So, bring a bag, satchel, or whatever works for you so that you have storage.

Make Sure to Get Your Hands on Virtual Reality

We would argue that virtual reality will be the next big revolution for gaming. Judging by statistics, there’s a good chance you haven’t been able to get your hands on the Oculus Rift, yet. PAX East will be an opportunity for you to change that, as Oculus VR will be near the center of the hall at booth #5068. Though, you can expect a ridiculously long line, so you may just want to rush there when the hall opens at 10:00AM.

 The Parking Situation

If you’re driving to the convention center, prepare to self-park for about $15. The place you want to look for is the South Parking lot.

If you prefer valet, you can find the service on Summer street. The cost is $25 + tip.

You can read more about parking at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center here.

Don’t Forget Your Badge

Do not leave your home without your badge. If you find yourself at the convention center without a badge, you’ll have to visit Will Call with a valid photo ID and they may be able to help you. But really, you don’t want to start your awesome weekend with stress. Bring your badge.
