Rocket League is set to receive its first batch of DLC this week, with the game’s Patch 1.04 being followed by a range of new content including an added arena, new Battle Cars and a number of new customization options.
The game’s first DLC pack, titled Supersonic Fury, will include the following content:
- Exclusive “Dominus” (American muscle car) and “Takumi” (Japanese street racer) Battle-Cars
- Six Decals for each new vehicle
- Five new paint types: “Brushed Metal, Carbon Fiber, Metallic Pearl, Pearlescent,” and “Wood”
- Two new Wheels: “Cristiano” and “Spinner”
- Two new Rocket Boosts: “Burnout” and “Nitrous”
There will also be a batch of free content being added to the game via the patch, including:
- “Utopia Coliseum” Arena
- “Spectate” to “Choose Team” menu in “Private Matches,” allowing players the option to watch games rather than participate (3v3 match-type maximum)
- 70+ new Country Flags and three “Sorry” items for our overloaded launch servers (“Servergate” Wheels, “Disconnected” Antenna, and “White Flag”)
- 3v3 Team Ranked as a replacement for 3v3 Solo the Online match queue
- Ranked matches will no longer start if the game is not full
- New ability to create or join Private Matches that can be named and/or password-protected
- “Vote to Forfeit” button to “Ranked” online matches
- Up to four Party member’s Battle-Cars can now be displayed on the Menu screens
Rocket League has proven to be an incredibly popular game with PS4 owners after it was offered as a free download for PS Plus subscribers last month. Now that the game’s servers have been stabilized, it’s great to see it receiving new content so early into its life cycle. The Supersonic Fury pack will cost $4 and will be released on August 13th.
