Arsenal fans added insult to injury following their victory over Tottenham on Wednesday evening, tearing down signs at their rivals’ stadium White Hart Lane and prompting clashes with the police.
With the club having defeated Tottenham 2-1 thanks to a brace from Mathieu Flamini, a selection of supporters celebrated the occasion by tearing down placards lining the home team’s stadium, along with confronting police after the final whistle had been blown. Sky Sports, who were televising the live event, failed to capture the chaotic scenes after the match, but a number of photographs taken by reporters have highlighted that a large number of police were gathered outside the stadium holding back a huge crowd of rowdy Arsenal fans.

The extent of the damage caused to White Hart Lane has yet to be clarified, though Arsenal could be punished by the FA for their fans’ behaviour. The governing body has yet to issue a statement regarding the matter.
Tottenham will next host Manchester City in a Premier League match on Saturday, with the club undoubtedly looking to fix the damage before the big match.
