Jurgen Klopp is set to travel to Liverpool tomorrow (October 8th) in order to sign a deal with the club, with Carlo Ancelotti having ruled himself out of becoming the next Liverpool manager.
According to reports, Klopp is flying to England in order to finalise a deal between Fenway Sports Group President Mike Gordon and Liverpool Chief Executive Ian Ayre, with him allegedly being set to sign a three-year contract with the Premier League club.
The ex-Borussia Dortmund manager, who coached his former team to two Bundesliga titles, was Liverpool’s first choice to replace the recently ousted Brendan Rodgers, though Ancelotti was also lined up for the position. However, Ancelotti withdrew himself from the speculation during a press event in London, saying: “I enjoy my time now but, of course, I want to come back to manage – to work – because it is my passion. I want to take my time to rest, but next season I am ready.”

Liverpool have won only four of 11 games across all competitions this season, and while Rodgers carried the team to second place in the Premier League in 2012, the team have underperformed since they lost star striker Luis Suarez to Barcelona.
It has been reported that Klopp has agreed to sign a deal with Liverpool if he is given the final say in all transfers made by the club, a clause which may have been introduced due to the club’s poor transfer history, which has seen them make controversial deals such as the purchasing divisive striker Mario Balotelli for £16 million. While Liverpool have insisted that they have always allowed the manager to have the final say in transfer decisions, it is alleged that they enforced strict rules that stifled Rodgers’ decision making when it came to buying new players, such as a rule that the club would not sign players over the age of 24.
