Hulu Sets a Date For Stephen King’s 11/22/63

Hulu’s most ambitious original miniseries has finally been scheduled.

Today, Hulu revealed that its nine-part adaptation of Stephen King’s novel, 11/22/63 will be serialized weekly beginning on Presidents Day, February 15, 2016. The date is especially appropriate because the storyline follows one man’s desperate attempt to save President John F. Kennedy from his assassination in Dallas, Texas on November 23, 1963.

King’s 11/22/63 was published in 2011, and it featured Jake Epping, a high school teacher who learns about a stable portal to the past and eventually takes on the dangerous mission to save Kennedy by murdering Lee Harvey Oswald, the man fated to kill him. In the 11/22/63 miniseries, Jake Epping will be played by James Franco.

Sarah Gadon costars in 11/22/63 as Sadie Dunhill, Epping’s lover in the past who helps him in his attempt to stop Oswald, as played by Daniel Webber. Other cast members include Chris Cooper as Al Templeton, Josh Duhamel as Frank Dunning, T.R. Knight as Johnny Clayton, Cherry Jones as Marquerite Oswald, Lucy Fry as Marina Oswald, and George MacKay as Bill Turcotte.

Kevin Macdonald (The Last King of Scotland) directed the first two episodes of 11/22/63, and executive produced the series alongside King, Bridget Carpenter, Bryan Burk, and J.J. Abrams.
