Exclusive Preview | Dark Knight III: The Master Race # 3

Bruce Wayne is dead…or at least that’s what he wanted you to think.

Despite the cliffhanger ending of Dark Knight III # 1, the original Batman is still very much alive, if not necessarily healthy and hale. After a lifetime of conflict, Wayne was finally ready to retire and allow Carrie Kelley to carry on his legacy. Sounds like a good plan, doesn’t it?

Unfortunately for Wayne and the rest of the world, the Kryptonians have their own plans. Superman’s people have been freed from the bottle city of Kandor, but they are fanatics and maniacs who demand to be worshiped as Gods. Quar and his followers have murdered thousands of their own people, and now they’ve been unleashed upon the Earth.

In CraveOnline’s exclusive preview for Dark Knight III: The Master Race # 3, Wayne reveals why he retired just as the Kryptonians issue a stark declaration for mankind. The master race has arrived, and the battle for humanity has just begun.

Here’s DC’s solicitation text for Dark Knight III: The Master Race # 3

“The hardest thing for Batman is to admit his greatest strength: He’s just one man, and sometimes he needs help. With so much at stake, will he turn to help of the Super variety?”

Yes, “Super variety” means exactly who you think it does. But that’s one Kryptonian against hundreds, if not thousands. Good thing he’s got Batman on his side!

Dark Knight III # 3 was written by Brian Azzarello and Frank Miller, with artwork by Andy Kubert and Klaus Janson. Additionally, the issue comes with Green Lantern tie-in comic drawn by comic book legend Geof Darrow.
