Angry Orchard Hard Cider Turns Green Apple for St. Patrick’s Day

We’ll put aside all of the green apple jokes for this St. Patrick’s Day and consider the attraction of sampling hard cider instead of dark ale with coffee notes this year.

The Angry Orchard Cider people are putting said apples to work in a series of recipes and serving suggestions covering all aspects of your would-be St. Patrick’s Day party.

Angry Orchard combined a total St. Patrick’s Day menu from Sweet Potato Pancakes to a stew to nachos — all with the traditional Irish theme. Of course, they also throw in the prerequisite holiday cocktail menu.

Below you’ll find a quick, convenient recipe card for Angry Orchard’s star St. Patrick’s Day cocktail offering, Kiss Me I’m Angry.

You can also catch the cocktail recipe for the Angry Irishman. However, and this is the last time I’ll bring up this point during this the 2016 St. Patrick’s Day season, the Angry Irishman isn’t a cocktail. Mixing Irish Whiskey and Green Apple Cider, its two ingredients make it a highball.

I don’t know why I have to point out the two ingredient rule to so many brewers and distillers, but they all miss the distinction. There’s no need to single a maker of good hard cider. Maybe I just need a drink.
