Russell Peters has taken over the world… kinda – his “Almost Famous World Tour,” which has taken him to 250 shows in 120 cities across 25 countries, is wrapping up in Toronto April 26th and 27th, and the shows from his hometown will be filmed for a special that will air on Netflix.
According to reports, the comedian visited high royalty in Saudi Arabia as well as Syrian refugees. Following his tour and a few more public engagements, he’ll go on a four-month hiatus to spend some time with his family.
He told The Canadian Press, “I’m kind of excited about it, actually – nervous and excited.” He later added about finishing his two-year tour in his hometown of Toronto, “I wanted to do it in my city and I think Massey Hall defines my city as that building has been there before all the other buildings.”
The “Almost Famous World Tour” will air on Netflix later this year, and is Peters’ second Netflix special. He will also appear on Lip Sync Battle next month with CeeLo Green.
