Image a world where the female superheroes of the DC Universe were on the forefront of World War II. That’s the premise of DC Comics Bombshells, the continuing digital first comic book series!
Take Batwoman, for example. In this world, Kate Kane actually prevented the murder of Bruce Wayne’s parents, so there may never be a Batman! And she is also a baseball player who brings her bat into battle against the bad guys, which gives new meaning to her chosen name. Even among the mightiest heroines, Batwoman has already carved out her legend. And she won’t be the last heroine to do so!
This week, writer Marguerite Bennett and artist Sandy Jarrell are throwing the spotlight on Batwoman in DC Comics Bombshells Chapter # 45, as Kate Kane recalls her time with her ex, Renee Montoya ahead of their complicated reunion. As Kate says, she tends to sabotage her relationships. And why should her future actions be any different from the past?
