Meanwhile in COVID: Doctors Blame Virus For Woman Stripping Naked and Drinking Body Wash (A Clean, Naked Woman? Oh Dear)

There have been a lot of reports about bizarre Covid-19 side effects (loss of taste and smell or restless anal syndrome, for example), but this one is above and beyond any of those – and not, in our opinion, necessarily a bad thing.

Four days after she tested positive for coronavirus, a 30-something woman in Doha, Qatar, stripped naked, laundered her clothes in a toilet, and drank 100 milliliters of shower gel. A relative brought her to the hospital.

“She had been agitated, required less sleep and had been talking excessively,” doctors wrote in the British Medical Journal Case Reports. “In addition, she had appeared confused, talking to people who were not there (suggesting she was responding to hallucinations), calling family members by the wrong name and on one occasion taking her clothes off for no reason.”

Her mood vacillated between “elated” and “tearful.” She wandered the hospital before doctors sedated her and called in the head shrinkers.

“When seen by the psychiatrist, she reported being happy and wanting world peace,” the case report said. “Although she had slept poorly for several days, she was not tired. She had grandiose religious ideas believing she had a special ‘spiritual power’ from God that she could give to others.”

The doctors surmised that brain inflammation caused by Covid was responsible for her delirium and mania. She had no history of mental illness, was not an alcoholic or drug addict, or even on any medications.

She spent five days in the hospital, during which she allegedly sang and told jokes.

Honestly, we think this chick sounds kind of fun. If this is the worst thing that happened to our girlfriends after contracting Covid, we wouldn’t complain.
