Crave’s Collider website Wednesday reported The Weinstein Company, which currently owns the rights to the Knight Rider franchise, hired screenwriter Brad Copeland to write a feature film to restart the phenomenon.
Of course, we’re not sure how advanced the Knight Industries Two Thousand (K.I.T.T.) would have to be to pass for a realistically futuristic car these days. The original star of the show David Hasselhoff reportedly wants to be involved.
Copeland, who wrote Wild Hogs, was also allegedly connected to write a new film adaptation of Gilligan’s Island. Yeah … that happened.
We’ll let let you know if any of this Knight Rider movement ends up amounting to anything.
