Jed Whedon Teases ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ Revelations

There’s potentially good news for fans coming to next week’s Comic-Con International in San Diego to catch a glimpse of Marvel’s “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” before it hits ABC.

Entertainment Weekly notes that the panel will run for one hour and fifteen minutes; which is more than enough time to screen the pilot and have a brief Q&A with panelists Joss Whedon, Jeph Loeb and a few unannounced guests. Although the report reiterates that a screening of the pilot is not confirmed.

“Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” executive producer Jed Whedon also dropped a few intriguing hints about the series, including the revelation that Agent Phil Coulson (Clarke Gregg) doesn’t know how he was revived and his fellow S.H.I.E.L.D. agents are keeping the truth from him.

“We can’t wait to pull the curtain back on that,” teased Jed Whedon. “[But] we’re going to take our time.”

Whedon also noted how the Marvel movies and “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” will relate to each other going forward.

“We plan on trying to weave in between the films and try to make them more rewarding on both ends,” explained Whedon. “In any of these [episodes], you can always ask: ‘Why don’t they just call Iron Man? [Iron Man and S.H.I.E.L.D.] are aware of each other, but they do have to have their own lives.”

“Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” will premiere in September on ABC.
