Before tonight’s season premiere of “Boardwalk Empire,” HBO unveiled the first full trailer for its upcoming drama series, “True Detective.”
“True Detective” was created and written by Nic Pizzolatto, and the eight episode first season stars Matthew McConaughey as Rust Cohle and Woody Harrelson as Martin Hart, a pair of police detectives assigned to solve a bizarre series of murders in Louisiana over the course of several years. “True Detective” will reportedly take place from multiple perspectives as the narrative shifts from 1995 to the present.
The first teaser for “True Detective’ went out in June, but this new trailer offers a better glimpse of what to expect from Cohle and Hart as well as some insight into the world that they inhabit.
Kevin Dunn, Michelle Monaghan, Alexandra Daddario, Tory Kittles, Michael Potts and Elizabeth Reaser co-star in “True Detective;” which is slated to premiere on HBO in January 2014.
