After excitement set in for those excited to download Grand Theft Auto V, Sony have delayed its digital release. Gamers are going nuts, and reasonably so.
Tampering with the expectations of such a big title is enough to make just about anyone freak out, especially after they paid for the bonus of having instant access at launch at the cost of having a nice game case to sit on the shelf. However, considering that they still get to download the game a day ahead of release, and hardcopy buyers will have to install a massive patch, they will still be ahead of everyone else that didn’t pre-order digitally. As long as the download speeds aren’t slow enough to warrant concern, this outrage should soon smooth over.
Despite the screaming at Sony, and the threats of not purchasing the game anymore, people are still buying the game like it’s their job. For example, according to VideoGamer, Amazon has completely run out of the Xbox 360 version of GTA 5. That’s a warning of shortages to come, so be sure to secure a pre-order. Otherwise, you might be waiting for the next shipment to arrive at your nearest store. Unless, of course, you are one of those people that loves driving three states over to get a game on release day.
