Two years ago, Joe Harris and artist Steve Rolston’s “”Ghost Projekt” was in development at Syfy as a TV series with Brett Matthews (“Supernatural”) attached to write the pilot episode.
While Syfy did not go forward with “Ghost Projekt,” Deadline is reporting that it has now resurfaced at NBC, with a new pilot script by John Glenn and André Øvredal. If NBC gives “Ghost Projekt” a pilot order, Øvredal will direct it.
“Ghost Projekt” is published by Oni Press and the original comic book followed U.S. Weapons Inspector Will Haley and Russian agent Anya Romanova as they investigated a ransacked Soviet research facility that contained a supernatural weapon of mass destruction capable of unleashing an army of ghosts.
Universal TV and Closed on Mondays are producing the current iteration of the potential “Ghost Projekt” TV series. During last year’s development season, Oni Press’ “The Sixth Gun” managed to get a pilot order from NBC before the network ultimately passed on it.
