As season 3 of “Strike Back” enters the home stretch, last week’s episode found Damien Scott (Sullivan Stapleton) and Michael Stonebridge (Philip Winchester) in Russia as they intentionally got themselves locked away in a prison in order to free a hacker named Erik Anderson (Andreas Utterhall), who was forced to decrypt the stolen NATO intel.
Complicating matters were Stonebridge’s physical and mental deterioration from exposure to a nerve agent and the bounty on their heads that was placed by the vengeful Arkady Ulyanov (Marcel Iures). But just when Scott and Stonebridge were on the verge of getting out of the prison, Leo Kamali (Zubin Varla) tipped off Ulyanov to their whereabouts and betrayed Section 20.
Scott and Stonebridge found an unexpected ally in Major Nina Pirogova (Tereza Srobva). But the hour ended with Nina and Scott trapped in the prison while Stonebridge and Anderson were taken away to a mysterious facility.
In our exclusive preview scene from this week’s “Strike Back,” Nina and Scott prove to be a good team as they attempt to escape before Ulyanov gets his hands on them.
And in our second preview scene, Stonebridge tries to save himself deep within the enemy facility. However, Stonebridge’s condition is progressively worse and even his would-be hostage can see just how sick he is.
Cinemax’s synopsis for this week’s episode seems to indicate that Kamali’s treachery will not go unnoticed by Section 20.
“Scott (Sullivan Stapleton) looks for an escape from Black Bear Prison, while Locke (Robson Green) becomes suspicious of Kamali (Zubin Varla). The team races to locate Stonebridge (Philip Winchester), whose condition grows more dire when he encounters Al-Zuhari’s plan firsthand. Continuing his vendetta, Ulyanov (Marcel Iures) closes in on Scott and Stonebridge.”
