It will be playing before Thor: The Dark World in theaters on November 8, but you don’t have to wait that long to see the first trailer for Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Chris Evans is back as the World War II hero, revived in the present day, still dealing with the aftermath of his battle with Hydra in 2011’s Captain America: The First Avenger. In 2014, he’ll team up with The Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) and The Falcon (Anthony Mackie) to take down The Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan), a.k.a. Bucky Barnes, the friend who supposedly died capturing Arnim Zola (Toby Jones) in the first film. Emphasis on the word “supposedly,” since he’s now a title character in Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier, directed by Joe & Anthony Russo (You, Me & Dupree) also stars Samuel L. Jackson, Cobie Smulders, Emily VanCamp, Frank Grillo and Robert Redford. It’s the third film in Marvel Studios’ “Phase Two,” which began with Iron Man 3, continues in Thor: The Dark World, and will also include 2014’s Guardians of the Galaxy and 2015’s The Avengers: Age of Ultron.
Enjoy the teaser, let us know what you think, and get ready to see the film in theaters on April 4, 2014.
