‘Breaking Bad’ Creator Vince Gilligan Weighs In on Jesse’s Fate

Spoilers ahead for the “Breaking Bad” series finale! If by some chance you still haven’t seen the last episode of “Breaking Bad” then you should skip this story.

Although the fate of Walter White (Bryan Cranston) was dealt with in the “Breaking Bad” finale, the future of his former partner, Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul) was less clear. Jesse was last seen speeding away from the Neo-Nazi compound after having been little more than a slave for over a year.

In a new interview with GQ, “Breaking Bad” creator Vince Gilligan spelled out a troubling scenario for Jesse’s life after the series ended.

“My personal feeling is that he got away,” explained Gilligan. “But the most likely thing, as negative as this sounds, is that they’re going to find this kid’s fingerprints all over this lab and they’re going to find him within a day or a week or a month. And he’s still going to be on the hook for the murder of two federal agents.”

However, Gilligan also held out a more hopeful ending for Jesse.

“Even though that’s the most likely outcome, the way I see it is that he got away,” related Gilligan. “And [Jesse] got to Alaska, changed his name, and had a new life. You want that for the kid. He deserves it.”

That’s one way to go for Jesse, but I prefer this “Breaking Bad” and Need For Speed mashup, “Jesse’s Revenge;” which seems to show Jesse punching out Walt Jr., among other hilarious highlights.
