Turns out Hank Pym will be in Edgar Wright’s Ant-Man movie after all.
Marvel confirmed Monday, via Crave’s CinemaBlend website, that Michael Douglas will portray the character who was the original Ant-Man, Goliath, Giant Man and a host of other heroes, most powered by his Pym particles.
“With Hank Pym’s rich history in the Marvel Universe, we knew we needed an actor capable of bringing the weight and stature to the role that the character deserves. We felt incredibly relieved when Michael Douglas agreed to step into the part with the charm and fortitude he brings to every character he inhabits, and couldn’t be more excited to see what he will do to bring Hank Pym to life.” – Marvel press release
Of course, Paul Rudd will play the titular hero … well, maybe anti-hero if Wright sticks with the comic formula.
Ant-Man is due out July 31, 2015.
