The New York International Auto Show is the annual home of the World Car of the Year award. According to an NYIAS 2014 announcement, this year’s 69 jurors have submitted a mix of vehicles covering foreign and domestic market from high end to average consumer.
Last year, the latest edition of the Volkswagen Golf took the award back to the UK. While the 2014 nominees might not offer anything as iconic as that breakthrough ride, they do offer a nice inclusive mix of potential winners.
In no particular order, 2014’s contenders are the Jeep Cherokee, Lexus IS, Audi A3, Cadillac CTS and Ford Fusion. That group will be trimmed down in Geneva before the final short list heads to New York City and the big announcement.
