Earlier this month, the executive producers of “Arrow” confirmed the rumors that the Suicide Squad will appear this season. Based upon the incarnation of DC’s Suicide Squad that was created in 1987 by John Ostrander, the Suicide Squad on “Arrow” will include several familiar faces.
Comic Book Resources has debuted the first photos from the “Suicide Squad” episode that depict returning guest stars Michael Rowe as Deadshot, Sean Maher as Shrapnel, Michael Jai White as Bronze Tiger and Cynthia Addai-Robinson as Amanda Waller. The appearance of the Suicide Squad was teased earlier in the season when Waller offered Bronze Tiger a chance at a reduced sentence in exchange for joining her team.
The “Suicide Squad” episode will center on John Diggle (David Ramsey) as Waller forces Diggle to go on a mission with Diggle’s former wife, Lyla Michaels (Audrey Marie Anderson) and the rest of the team. Diggle has some personal history with Deadshot, as he was the man who killed Diggle’s brother.
Diggle’s past will also be explored in the episode through flashbacks that include Diggle’s ties to a warlord and his friendship with Ted Gaynor (Ben Browder).
Keto Shimizu and Bryan Q. Miller are writing the “Suicide Squad” episode, which is slated to air on March 19.
