Summer is here and it's time to warm up your grill. What are you going to make? Burgers, of course. But don’t settle with your normal boring burgers! Let us give you some tips on how to spice up the world’s best sandwich.
How to Make Your Summer Grill Favorites at Home
Mix in Some Chopped Onions
We all know about the deliciousness of adding some fresh onions to your favorite burger, but it’s summer, so let’s get a little more adventurous with the way that we use our vegetables. The next time that you want to grill up a burger, chop up some onions and mix them into the raw hamburger meat. The onions will keep the meat moist and tender while absorbing all of that sweet, sweet beef flavor.
Top it with ‘Shrooms
Mushrooms, like onions, are the flavor amplifiers of the vegetable kingdom. They take whatever meat you’re eating and turn it into an experience that goes beyond words. Don’t believe me? Dice up some shroom’s, sauté them with some olive oil and pepper, top your burger, and experience pure bliss yourself.
Blacken That Burger
When it comes to summer, you have to keep it Cajun. To that end, why not try something that you’ve probably never done before: Get some blackening seasoning and make a blackened burger. Just coat the outside of your burger with the blackening powder before tossing it on the grill. Protip : Mix some Worcestershire sauce into the raw burger meat before blackening it.
Insert Some Cheese
Cheese on top is boring. Passé. It’s been done. In other words, it’s not fresh. Let’s get fresh this summer and start putting our cheese on the inside of our burgers. So grab some nice, fresh mozzarella cheese, toss it up into a ball and place it into the middle of your raw burger patty before you toss it on the grill. Trust us, deliciousness will follow.
Make it into a Quesadilla
Buns are an unnecessary barrier between you and meat. What about making your next burger into a quesadilla? Simply toss the a flour tortilla onto a grilling pan, warm it on both sides, and then toss your burger, onions, lettuce, tomato and cheese right on top.
Add a Citrus-Lime Twist
Nothing says fresh like adding some citrus-lime to your meat. You too can add some awesome summer flavor to your favorite burger by tossing up the juice from half a lime into your raw burger meat.
Bacon it Up
Ah, bacon. We love it. You love it. It’s an amazing cut of meat. But the problem is that you don’t eat it enough, right? Breakfast and BLTs will just not cut it. So top your next burger with some bacon. And then go ahead and add some more. Why aren't you already doing this?
