VIDEO: Robot Throws Out First Pitch at Diamondbacks-Nationals Game

There are just too many jokes here…

With the Arizona Diamondbacks deciding to send a robot to the mound to throw out the first pitch at Wednesday's game against the Washington Nationals, which direction do you take?

Do you zero in on Arizona's last place standing in the NL West and suggest Bruce (as named by the robot's teen creators at Paradise Valley High School in Phoenix) may be able to fill a slot in their starting rotation?

Do you key on the fact that the D-backs have apparently run out of famous, or even worthy, luminaries to throw out the ceremonial pitch?

Or do you conclude that Arizona's ridiculously hot temperatures make it impossible for carbon-based lifeforms to actually play baseball in those conditions?

Any way you look at it, check out the video as posted to Crave sports site NESN

We think Bruce deserves at least a minor-league deal just to check out his stuff in a real game situation.  But that's just us…
