The hit show on Discovery Canada, “Canada’s Worst Driver,” is about to cruise into season 10 as the network announces that its begun production on season 10 of the series.
Proper Television’s debut commission and Discovery’s most successful program ever, “Canada’s Worst Driver” has started production on eight, one-hour episodes for its 10th anniversary season. To the relief of drivers and pedestrians across Canada, host Andrew Younghusband has once again hauled a new batch of eight disastrous drivers off the road and has safely sequestered them at the Driver Rehabilitation Centre in Dunnville, Ontario.
With over 7,000 worst driver nominations, 64 horrific drivers, 198 challenges, 50 seriously wrecked cars, and one really brave host, “Canada’s Worst Driver” will once again corral eight of the countries’ most notoriously horrible drivers for the 10th year in a row. Each driver is nominated by a friend or family member and is put through tried and tested driving challenges from seasons past. Designed to test and improve their core driving skills, the CWD team of experts will monitor each driver’s performance and at the end of each episode, the driver who shows the most improvement graduates and is given back the keys to their vehicle. After eight relentless one-hour episodes, the last driver will ceremoniously be given the dubious title of “Canada’s Worst Driver.”
“This is a very special year for Proper Television as it marks the 10th anniversary that we’ve been in business, creating and producing some of Canada’s top rated factual entertainment and reality programs,” said Guy O’Sullivan, President of Proper Television, in a press release. “’Canada’s Worst Driver’ was our first commission and its incredibly long-standing success and increase in popularity continues to make me proud.”
As the #2 Canadian-produced program on Canadian Entertainment Specialty TV in 2013/2014 and the #5 program overall, each season of “Canada’s Worst Driver” continues to grow in success. Season 9 reached 9.8 million Canadians (P2+) and increased its audience by 12 per cent over Season 8.
