A new mod for Minecraft has transformed the game’s famously low-quality voxel-esque visuals into something that is truly beautiful to behold.
Depending on your point of view, the new ‘Better Foliage’ mod either makes Minecraft look better or detracts from its simplistic charm, but it’s undoubtedly interesting to see the game altered in such dramatic fashion.
Below is a comparison of Minecraft with and without the Better Foliage mod.
The mod, created by OctarineNoise, is client only, though according to its creator it will not crash you server if you add it to your game accidentally. OctarineNoise says the mod “makes your plant life a bit more verdant and fluffy by drawing some extra stuff on trees, grass blocks, cacti, lily pads. [It] also adds reeds in shallow water.”
Given the newly improved textures, your PC/laptop may struggle to handle the mod, so be sure to check your specs before you get downloading.
