Comic-Con 2014: Steve Purcell & Galyn Susman on Toy Story That Time Forgot

At Comic-Con International, Pixar fans were treated to their first look at the brand new animated special, Toy Story That Time Forgot.

Toy Story That Time Forgot was written and directed by Steve Purcell, the co-director of Pixar’s Brave. Purcell has a long history in a comics and video games before his stint at Pixar began with Cars and Ratatouille. Purcell created his own comic, Sam & Max; which has been adapted into an animated series and several video games. Purcell also had a stint at LucasArts, where he worked on their classic adventure games including Maniac Mansion, The Curse of Monkey Island and Zombies Ate My Neighbors.

Galyn Susman is a producer on Toy Story That Time Forgot. Susman has worked her way up through Pixar after starting as an associate producer on Ratatouille. She primarily produced Pixar shorts before she produced the first Toy Story special, Toy Story of Terror.

At Comic-Con, we spoke with Purcell and Susman about the premise behind Toy Story That Time Forgot before they explained what it was paying homage to, how long it took to produce, the challenges of the format and whether we will ever see a Toy Story TV series.
