Warner Bros. has confirmed today that the upcoming third entry in Rocksteady’s Arkham trilogy of Batman games, Batman: Arkham Knight, will release on June 2nd, 2015. The title will release on PS4, Xbox One, and PC simultaneously. As was already known, the game will not release on last-generation hardware.
Additionally, Warner threw in an extra morsel of info to soften the blow of a nine month wait. Two special editions of the game will be sold, one called Batman: Arkham Knight Batmobile Edition, and another called Batman: Arkham Knight Limited Edition.
The packages differ substantially, though both seem pretty awesome. Here’s the breakdown on each, courtesy of Warner’s press release (prices are bolded).

US prices are, as is often the case, still pending, but it’s not terribly difficult to predict where they’ll fall. Though shiny limited editions are nice, it’s still a bit disheartening to learn how far away Arkham Knight’s release still is. If anything, today’s announcement confirms that I’ll need to keep Arkham Knight off my radar for at least another few months before getting genuinely excited. No matter how you slice it, that is never fun news.
I’ll admit I’m impressed by an actual transforming Batmobile, though. At least Rocksteady still knows how to get treat its biggest fans right.
