In an ongoing, and increasingly successful attempt at total world domination, World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) has started making movies, and not just movies about wrestling. Horror movies, family films and hardboiled action thrillers have abounded from WWE Studios – many of them actually very good – and now they’re moving into feel-good comedies with all-female casts.
Case in point: Queens of the Ring, a comedy about supermarket cashiers who take up wrestling. It starts as a way to connect with an estranged son and transforms into a way to turn their boring lives around. WWE, bringing families together. That’s what it’s all about, isn’t it?

In a desperate attempt to reconnect with her estranged son who is a passionate WWE fan, Rose (Berry) grabs his attention by joining a rigorous training program to learn to wrestle like a legitimate WWE Diva. She convinces her bored fellow cashiers at the local supermarket to join her challenging new adventure and together they become the “Queens of the Ring.”
