Canadian songstress Alanis Morissette may have skipped out on a commitment to make an appearance at an Ottawa charity event – she canceled due to illness, however several photos of her enjoying time at a beach house raises suspicions that she was faking it.
Isn’t it ironic?
“She was indeed sick, which is why she unfortunately could not make the trip to Ottawa,” said Morissette’s publicist via email (as reported by The Canadian Press).
Canadian rock musician Burton Cummings of The Guess Who stood in for the Jagged Little Pill singer. The Hope Live event supports Fertile Future, a Canadian national non-profit organization that provides fertility preservation information and support services to cancer patients and oncology professionals. The event was launched by Rogers Communications executive Heidi Bonnell, who is also a survivor of melanoma and non-Hodgkins lymphoma – she and her spouse froze embryos before her chemotherapy, and two years ago a surrogate gave birth to their twins. She announced Monday that 300 men and women have so far been helped with fertility preservation through the money raised at the event. “All’s well that ends well. It was an exceptional evening that raised a large amount of money and was a huge amount of fun,” said Bonnell in the same article. “Burton Cummings really stepped up and gave it his all, and the audience loved it. It was a frustrating weekend, but an amazing event.”
