Taste Of Toronto Returns To Fort York This Summer

Following the outstanding success of last year’s inaugural event, Taste of Toronto returns to Fort York Historic Site this summer.

Featuring some of Toronto’s hottest restaurants and world-class chefs, “Taste Of” events are now held in over 20 cities around the world annually, including London, Sydney, Milan, Johannesburg, and Paris (launching in May 2015).

Last year’s Taste of Toronto drew over 19,000 food lovers and notable guests who descended on Fort York to sample Toronto’s spectacular food scene at its best, with celebrity chef appearances by David Chang, Chuck Hughes, and many more. Set to be even bigger and better, the second annual event will showcase fresh faces alongside returning favourites, as well as over 70 local artisan food producers and premium brands in the vendor marketplace. There will also be a full programme of demonstrations, tastings, and interactive cooking classes.

“The first-ever Taste of Toronto was an outstanding success! We are raising the bar even higher this year. Expect to see more interactive programming and talented chefs,” said Meghan O’Hanlon, Event Director of Taste of Toronto, in a press release. “Taste of Toronto is our chance to be a part of the city’s diverse and rich food culture, and to showcase Toronto as a frontrunner in the world’s restaurant scene.”

“We can’t wait to be back at Taste of Toronto. Last year was a lot of fun!” said Mark McEwan of McEwan Group. “Taste of Toronto is a great opportunity to see firsthand the strong community that is Toronto’s food scene, meet some really talented chefs, taste some delicious food, all with the beautiful view of the city in the background. There’s no better way to spend a summer weekend.”

New to this year’s lineup is Michael van den Winkel of Little Sister bringing the heat from his spicy, chili-infused Indonesian fare, and celebrated MasterChef Canada judge Michael Bonacini appears alongside the talented chef team behind the classic fine dining Oliver & Bonacini restaurants. Returning fan-favourites include Victor Barry of Splendido, Cory Vitiello of Harbord Room, Carl Heinrich of Richmond Station, David Neinstein of Barque Smokehouse, Elia Herrera of Los Colibris, and McEwan of McEwan Group. The chefs will serve three signature dishes at each of their pop-up restaurants.

Taste of Toronto runs from July 2-5, and tickets go on sale in April. Visit Taste of Toronto’s official website to stay updated!
