Apple Announces Mysterious New Event Possibly Featuring the New iPhone and Apple Watch

The invite for the Apple event, set to take place on March 9th.

Apple has sent out press invites for an event set to take place on March 9th, in which the company will likely reveal more details regarding the Apple Watch along with perhaps shedding some light on what we should expect from the next iPhone model.

The invite reads: “Please join us for an invitation-only event at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts Theater in San Francisco on Monday, March 9, at 10:00 a.m.” Apple CEO Tim Cook has previously stated that the Apple Watch will be released in April, meaning that this event will surely revolve around the smartwatch device and how Apple plans to bring the fledgling tech to a wide range of consumers.

We’ll likely be finding out more details regarding the Apple Watch, but what about a new iPhone, Macbook Air, Apple TV or even the rumored iPad Pro?

Though Apple usually reserves an iPhone announcement for its own special event, its March showcase could at least reveal some of the tech going into the new smartphone. If the next iPhone is to share the same continuity with other smartphones in the Apple family, it will likely be branded the iPhone 6s and feature an updated camera along with a display that boasts greater clarity. Speculation is rife that the camera featured on this as-yet-unannounced iPhone will be the greatest leap in the tech Apple has yet produced, though the tech giant is remaining reliably quiet regarding the upcoming hardware.

More announcements that could take place during the event include a newer Macbook Air model or a revitalized edition of the ailing Apple TV. If we are being optimistic, we’d also like to see some details regarding the touted iPad Pro, the largest, said to be the most feature-packed model of the iPad yet that is rumored to boast both an A9 Chipset and 4GB of RAM, which has been given a speculative release window of April – June.

It remains to be seen what Apple has in store for us on March 9th, but whatever it is, there are two certainties:

  1. It’s going to be expensive.
  2. We’re going to want one. Like, immediately.
