The line-up for this summer’s 46th annual Regina Folk Festival has been revealed, and it’s a mixed bag of home-grown performers as well as musical imports, including The Sheepdogs, Sinead O’Connor, Blue Rodeo, Vance Joy, and Jenny Lewis.
“Sinead O’Connor is a big deal because of her background. She’s extremely outspoken,” Regina Folk Festival’s artistic director Sandra Butel told CBC News. O’Connor recently made headlines when she declared that she would never perform her hit track “Nothing Compares” live ever again. “She keeps redefining herself. It’s so important to have female role models on stage to look up to.”
